Air Education and Training Command has updated its mission and vision statements in an effort to bring airmen back to the basics. “Recruit, train, and educate airmen to deliver airpower for America” is their new mission statement. The new vision statement is, “Forging innovative airmen to power the world’s greatest Air Force,” states a Jan. 21 release. AETC boss Gen. Robin Rand said the command is committed to “producing the highest quality airmen” who “adhere to our core values, maintain our standards, value our heritage, and perform at exceptional levels.”
The Air Force is planning to invest nearly $1.7 billion to continue modernizing the B-1B Lancer and B-2 Spirit bombers over the next five years, revising earlier plans to retire those aircraft before the B-21 Raider is fielded in bulk.
