New Hospital at Bagram

The US military has opened a new hospital at Bagram AB, Afghanistan, naming it the Craig Joint Theater Hospital after fallen Army medic SSgt. Heathe Craig, who was killed last year. Air Force Col. Bart Iddins, commander of Task Force Medical, said the new state-of-the-art facility “rivals any stateside hospital of equivalent size.” It has about 50 beds, including a four-bed trauma bay, three operating rooms, and modern dental clinic. Air Force journalist SSgt. Thomas Doscher also reports that the new facility is cleaner and more sterile.
