Plans to reduce the Army Guard and Air Guard continues to spur bipartisan action around the country. On Capitol Hill, Senators are trying to use a nonbinding resolution to encourage the Administration to have second thoughts. According to the National Journal, the plan by resolution-leaders Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), the chairman and ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Personnel Subcommittee, is to get out ahead of the Administration’s release next week of the 2007 defense budget and QDR.
South Korea conducted the final live-fire drill with its F-4 Phantom II and AGM-142 missiles before retiring the two defense assets in June, amid the largest U.S.-Korea Aerial Exercise in full swing.
