A Defense Authorization Bill …. Is That Asking Too Much?: Well, it looks like the answer is “yes.” According to Sen. John Warner (R-Va.), the issue of whether the full Senate takes up the 2006 defense authorization measure is “not a closed door.” He told reporters last week that he is working with Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) to figure out how to get the bill moving. It’s high time and then some. (DR, 09/21/05)
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
