Who Said “Sharp Reductions” No one has said US forces in Iraq will “draw down sharply next year,” USAF Gen. Richard Myers, JCS Chairman, told the Pentagon press corps on Friday, bluntly rejecting the notion that any “senior commander” had said there would be “sharp reductions.” Myers, who recently returned from a 10-day trip visiting American forces overseas, said there is “a possibility” of a reduced US presence in Iraq, IF (he repeatedly emphasized the word) there is continued progress on the security and political front.
