President Trump on Friday signed a six-month omnibus spending bill, averting a government shutdown. The $1 trillion bill will keep the government open through September. The bill was approved by the Senate on May 4, with the House approving it May 3. The bill gives the Pentagon a funding jump of $12.5 billion, with another $2.5 billion expected once the White House releases a new plan to defeat ISIS.
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
