The Air Force on Friday awarded Doss Aviation a $290 million contract for initial flight training. Under the award, Doss, located in Colorado Springs, Colo., will provide ground and flying training for pilots, combat systems officers, remotely piloted aircraft pilots, and international students as part of their undergraduate training. Doss was one of four companies vying for the contract, which will last through January 2027, according to a Pentagon announcement.
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
