Fighters from the 36th Fighter Squadron at Osan AB, Korea, are set to fly with their South Korean counterparts in two weeks. The US F-16Cs and F-15Ks from the ROKAF’s 11th Fighter Wing will practice basic maneuvers and the fundamentals of air-to-air combat at Osan, according to a release. Exercise Buddy Wing 16-5—the latest of the regular joint exercise to ensure readiness on the Korean peninsula—will run from June 7 to June 10.
Secretary of Defense Austin Lloyd III met with his counterparts from Australia, Japan and the Philippines to discuss bolstering defense ties on May 2. The discussion included plans for joint F-35 exercises with Japan and Australia in the coming years.
