House Panels Release NDAA Drafts

Six of the House Armed Service Committee’s panels released their marks for the Fiscal 2017 defense authorization bill on Tuesday. The readiness subcommittee’s draft blocks another proposed round of Base Realignment and Closure in 2019 despite the Pentagon’s recent appeal for just that in an April 12 report to Congress. The tactical air and land forces panel encouraged the Secretary of the Air Force to use contract incentives to accelerate the next generation JSTARS program. The panels are slated to hold their markups April 20 and April 21, and the full committee markup is scheduled for April 27. Find each of the panels’ drafts below:
