Lt. Gen. Gina Grosso this week became the Air Force’s deputy chief of staff for manpower, personnel, and services. Grosso, who received her third star during the ceremony, is the first woman to hold the position. The deputy chief of staff for manpower, personnel, and services, is responsible for plans and policies covering all parts of military and civilian personnel management, including endstrength, education and training, compensation, and resource allocation, according to a release. A large part of the job will be developing plans to expand the Human Capital Annex of the Air Force’s Strategic Master Plan to ensure the Air Force is capable today and in the future, Grosso? said. Grosso previously served as the Air Force’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Response program director.
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
