A pararescue team from the 129th Rescue Wing out of Moffett Federal Airfield, Calif., saved the life of a young fisherman in the Pacific Monday, according to a Dec. 15 release. The 24-year-old male grew ill, requiring more treatment than his fellow fishermen could provide, while onboard a commercial fishing boat approximately 180 miles off the coast of Monterey. Three pararescuemen boarded an HH-60G Pave Hawk rescue helicopter, administered care, then transported the man to San Jose Regional Medical Center. He is in stable condition, according to the release. The wing is credited with saving over 1,000 lives.
