New Fitness Center for Deployed Airmen

? Airmen with the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing now have access to a 24/7 state-of-the-art fitness center that opened earlier this month at the unit’s undisclosed operating location in Southwest Asia. The 20,000-square-foot, two-level gym features new weightlifting equipment on the first level, along with a fitness room and two full-sized basketball courts, according to the wing’s Aug. 13 release. Treadmills, elliptical trainers, stepping machines, and exercise bicycles are located in a separate area above the main floor. “It’s really cool to be able to open this and move from the expeditionary to the enduring mission,” said 380th AEW Vice Commander Col. Jeffrey Cooper, who cut the ribbon during the Aug. 9 opening ceremony. “It’s a fantastic facility,” he said. “When you are deployed, there are no excuses that you have not to get into shape, especially if you have a fitness center to get you to where you want to be,” said SSgt. Michael Jordan, a personal trainer at the center.
