Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz and his wife Suzie will participate in the Air Force Marathon 10K race later this month at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Last year, General Schwartz presented trophies to the top finishers in the event’s various races. “We had a great time at last year’s event, meeting all the airmen, civilians, and family members enjoying what has truly become an Air Force tradition,” he said. He added, “Suzie and I knew we had to participate this year, and we can’t wait to join the field of runners.” The 10K race takes place on Sept. 18, along with the full 26.2-mile race and half marathon. A 5K run is on the previous day. The Air Force Marathon broke a record last month when it topped 10,000 total participants for all events for the first time. (Wright-Patterson report by Josh Aycock)
