WAVY TV reports that the joint basing effort between Langley Air Force Base and Ft. Eustis in Virginia is progressing with the recent signing of an installation support memorandum of agreement by the Air Force and Army. Langley and Eustis are among the joint basing initiatives directed under BRAC 2005. The two facilities expect to begin sharing support operations in January 2010 and fully merge by October 2010. According to the news report, Air Force Col. Donald Kirkland will take command of a newly formed 633rd Air Base Wing, which will serve as the lead unit for JBB Langley-Eustis.
