Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) now has an at-large seat on the US Air Force Academy Board of Visitors. In a June 24 statement, Inhofe said, “I am honored by this appointment. … The Air Force Academy produces quality men and women who serve our nation with distinction, and I appreciate this opportunity to impact our national security in a positive manner.” Inhofe, who is a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, will serve for at least one year, according to the statement. The Board of Visitors comprises 15 members.
Air Force Gen. Alexus G. Grynkewich assumed command of U.S. European Command on July 1, taking over the key assignment as the U.S. and its allies contend with a resurgent Russia and a grinding war in Ukraine.
