The new defense policy bill, awaiting Senate approval before going to the President, contains a measure that provides a compromise to end dispute over civilian personnel management actions for Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, reports the Macon Telegraph. Essentially, the center would retain at Robins AFB, Ga., some 100 civilian personnel management workers, including the current director, who would serve two masters, the ALC commander and the Air Force Personnel Center commander. Under BRAC 2005 impetus, the Air Force had intended to physically consolidate civilian personnel management functions at AFPC. The newspaper reports that Rep. Jim Marshall (D-Ga.), who developed the agreement, called it a “big win” for the WRALC.
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
