Civilians eyeing a job with the Air Force now have a new resource that streamlines the online federal job application process. USA Staffing is an Internet-based recruitment tool connected to USAJOBS, the federal government’s employment website. USA Staffing keeps basic data such as the applicant’s name and contact information, and automatically enters it in subsequent applications. The integration of USA Staffing and USAJOBS “makes it even easier to find that perfect Air Force job,” said John Steenbock, deputy director for civilian force integration. He added that it “helps ensure we match the right people to the right jobs.”
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
