Not Satisfied in Georgia:

Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) has told the Air Force to get off the dime when it comes to the privatized housing problem at Moody AFB, Ga. In fact, he spoke last week on the Senate floor, complaining about Air Force responses he’s received on the situation. Moody is one of several bases that has run into trouble with privatized housing developer American Eagle Communities. A statement from his office says Chambliss believes the service has had “ample opportunity to take action” and that the situation is “ripe for an inspector general investigation.” He began confronting Air Force leadership on this matter in the spring and just last month asked for more information, but the statement says “neither of the responses effectively addressed the issue.” Chambliss wants to get beyond the current legal formalities, asking the service specifically what drove it to select this developer “given previous known defaults and bankruptcy declarations.”
