Despite problems with one of its privatized housing contractors, the Air Force is continuing the effort around the force. Vandenberg Air Force Base in California selected GMH Housing to develop, manage, and construct an estimated 867 housing units. At Vandenberg last week, the developer, which has 40 other privatization projects around the country, kicked off the effort with a town hall meeting.
The Air Force has begun flying its CV-22 Ospreys again. But that is just the start of a multi-step process to return the fleet to normal operations following a deadly crash last year, the service says.
