The 374th Airlift Wing at Yokota AB, Japan, airlifted 10,000 pounds of water and 100 air conditioning units to the Japanese prefecture hit by the July 16 earthquake, reports SrA. Veronica Pierce. The US Ambassador to Japan, Thomas Schieffer, and Lt. Gen. Bruce Wright, US Forces Japan commander, flew with the supplies to meet with Japanese officials. Schieffer called the airlift a “small gesture to say thank you” for Japan’s help during Hurricane Katrina.
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
