The Warner Robins Air Logistics Center at Robins AFB, Ga., has two self-sufficient, 37-foot tractor-trailer combinations—dubbed War Wagons—that can deploy anywhere in the world to help make structural repairs on broken aircraft. They can drive within the US or be airlifted aboard a C-17 or C-130. Robins journalist Amanda Creel reports that the mechanics pack the wagons with special tools and supplies depending upon the job, which can include bolted, bonded, or composite repairs.
Air Force Gen. Alexus G. Grynkewich assumed command of U.S. European Command on July 1, taking over the key assignment as the U.S. and its allies contend with a resurgent Russia and a grinding war in Ukraine.
