The Pentagon plans to name a new outside review panel to survey military space management and operations, reports Andy Pasztor of the Wall Street Journal. A DOD spokesman told Pasztor that there is a timeline for the review, but the department is still considering appropriate appointees. The last overarching review was the 2001 Commission to Assess US National Security Space Management and Organization headed by Donald Rumsfeld before he stepped down to become Defense Secretary.
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
