Support group airmen at Scott AFB, Ill., have a new rallying cry, “Fight the base; recover the base; win the war.” The slogan and concept are the brainchild of Col. Brad Spacy, commander of the 375th Mission Support Group at Scott, who got the idea when he deployed for Desert Storm as a security forces lieutenant, reports 2nd Lt. Karoline Scott. The idea is to engage more than first responders—security forces, firefighters, and medics—during natural disasters. “All available airmen need to have an established role when the time comes to protecting and rebuilding the base,” Maj.
