The Air Force has agreed to pay some $519,000 to the Little Egg Harbor Intermediate School to make repairs to damage it sustained when the pilot of an Air National Guard F-16 mistakenly fired 27 training rounds into the building on Nov. 3, 2004. It was nighttime and there were no casualties. A statement from Rep. James Saxton (R-N.J.) said the school district finally reached an agreement with the Air Force on Oct. 31.
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
