The active military services all achieved 100 percent or better on their Fiscal 2006 recruiting goals, and, unlike last year when the Army came up short by some 6,700 bodies, the land service recorded 635 more new recruits than its goal of 80,000. The Air Force was a tad over its numerical goal of 30,750, besting it by 139 recruits. Even, the Air National Guard, which had a few rocky months earlier this year, reached 97 percent of its goal, coming up only 242 short of its goal of 9,380. The Air Force Reserve exceeded its goal of 6,607 by 382 new recruits.
