Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne noted Monday during AFA’s Air and Space Conference that 70 percent of high school seniors who earn Air Force ROTC scholarships earn them in technical fields. The Secretary emphasized that it is essential to encourage young people to seek technical degrees and to interest them in an Air Force career. Wynne did not go into details, but the Air Force and industry are pushing this agenda, each acutely aware of a growing shortage of science and engineering professionals.
