The launch date for the first TacSac-2 microsatellite is set for Nov. 13, 2006, from NASA’s Wallops Island launch facility at Wallops Island, Va. The goal of the joint project is to help prove responsive space concepts, including the rapid design, build, and launch—within 15 months—and responsive launch—within one week of call-up. Lawmakers earlier this year questioned the Pentagon’s commitment to TacSat and other responsive space endeavors.
