Air Force Space Command is sending forth emissaries to schools to talk up the benefits of pursuing science and engineering programs. There is a well-known dearth of students pursuing math and science. According to Stars and Stripes, AFSPC engineers and scientists have to spend at least four hours a year traveling to elementary, middle, or high schools—the command has made it part of their space professional recertification process.
Secretary of Defense Austin Lloyd III met with his counterparts from Australia, Japan and the Philippines to discuss bolstering defense ties on May 2. The discussion included plans for joint F-35 exercises with Japan and Australia in the coming years.
