AETC Steps Out With “One-for-All” Desktop: Air Education and Training Command officials say AETC is set to introduce the first across-the-board standard desktop computer configuration in January. The effort is part of a 5-year, $70 million Air Force Microsoft Services contract. Officials expect the standardization move will, above all else, provide greater computer security. TSgt. Eric Mikkelsen says AETC has seen some 8,000 computer intrusions into its systems this year. He adds, “security will be increased exponentially” because of centralized management.
The Air Force is requesting about $141 million for initial enlistment bonuses in its fiscal 2026 budget, while Space Force wants $13 million.
