At Pease ANGB, N.H., Rep. John Boozman (R-Ark.) on Sept. 19 guided a House Committee on Veterans Affairs field hearing to see how New Hampshire handles transitioning Guardsmen from active duty back to civilian life. The New Hampshire National Guard Bureau happens to have the “best practice model” for such programs, according to a committee statement.
The six-week government shutdown did not affect the hours flown by Air Force pilots, a service spokesperson told Air & Space Forces Magazine—avoiding what could have been a major blow at a time when flying hours are already lower than they have been in decades.
