In California, Solano County planning commissioners decided to postpone until Dec.6 consideration of a proposal that would add another 88 wind turbines to some 700 already on the hills above Travis AFB, Calif., reports The Reporter. Air Force officials fear there could be a potential hazard from adding additional turbines and urged planners to hold off until the base had installed its new aircraft-control ASR-11 radar system and gone operational, which is set for fall 2008.
