Air Force Reserve Command’s 433rd Airlift Wing at Lackland AFB, Tex., has added two squadrons to round out its new role as the sole Air Force training unit for the C-5 airlifter. The 356th Airlift Squadron and the 733rd Training Squadron joined the 433rd during a formal ceremony Tuesday. The airlift squadron conducts C-5 training courses, while the training squadron maintains administrative control of students.
The Air Force is launching an effort to develop a new stand-off missile with a range of 1,000 nautical miles, or 1,150 miles, that would eventually be used for both air-to-air and air-to-surface missions.
