OPM Cites Veteran Preference Edge in Hiring: The federal government hired more veterans in Fiscal 2004 than it did in 2003, according to the annual employment report issued recently by the Office of Personnel Management. The 2004 data shows that the Air Force is leading the way among federal executive departments. The report covers 2004, is dated December 2005, and was presented to Congress in January 2006. Go figure.
The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
