Gen. Robert H. “Doc” Foglesong, US Air Forces in Europe Commander, received the highest honor of the enlisted corps on Aug. 26, when he was inducted into the command’s Order of the Sword before a packed house at the officers’ club at Ramstein AB, Germany. Foglesong, who has commanded USAFE since August 2003, praised today’s NCOs as the core of the Air Force’s strength and the “steel in our back.” Fogelsong is the 16th inductee into USAFE’s Order of the Sword.
Air Force Gen. Alexus G. Grynkewich assumed command of U.S. European Command on July 1, taking over the key assignment as the U.S. and its allies contend with a resurgent Russia and a grinding war in Ukraine.
