The enlisted force of Air Mobility Command has bestowed its eighth Order of the Sword upon Gen. Duncan McNabb, who just relinquished command on Sept. 7. CMSgt. Joseph Barron, AMC command chief, said at a Sept. 6 ceremony, “Those who have had the privilege of serving with him daily understand that his effect on the enlisted community has been both profound and enduring.” In his comments, McNabb noted that what made him feel best about being AMC commander was the he “could go and find a number of young airmen who said, ‘Here’s what we did today to make our Air Force better.’ “
U.S. Southern Command recently announced its first lethal strike on a suspected narco-trafficking vessel in two months, and the first under a newly formed permanent counter-cartel task force. The U.S. is also reportedly planning to transfer MQ-9 drones to Colombia to bolster its counter-cartel efforts.
