US Pacific Command says that US forces will participate in the Cobra Gold multi-national exercise, scheduled to be held in Thailand from May 15-26. The exercise is a regular event hosted by Thailand, with this year’s installment designed to promote regional peace and security, as well as marking the 25th anniversary of the exercise. Thailand, US, and Singapore armed forces will work in a combined task force headquarters computer simulated exercise. Thailand, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, and the US will conduct a series of exercises ranging from civic assistance projects to multi-national peace keeping efforts.
More than 100 B-21s will be needed if the nation is to avoid creating a high demand/low capacity capability, panelists said on a Hudson Institute webinar. The B-21's flexibility, stealth, range and payload will be in high demand for a wide range of missions, both traditional and new.
