During the latest in the “Warfighter Talks” series between the Air Force and Army, the service Chiefs of Staff signed a new memorandum of agreement that signals their intent to provide direct liaisons at various levels to engage in a range of issues from joint training to working equipment interoperability issues. And, according to an Air Force release, the services “will seek opportunities to jointly develop doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures,” working through personnel exchanges at service schools.
The Air Force is spending heavily on F-22 improvements through the end of the decade, suggesting it may not retire the jet in 2030 as it previously planned. New sensors, fuel tanks, communications, and electronic warfare systems are among the upgrades that comprise the package.
