A Slap on the Hand:

A Slap on the Hand: The United Nations’ nuclear watchdog—the International Atomic energy Agency—passed a resolution Friday that criticizes Iran’s non-compliance with international nonproliferation treaties. The statement, a watered-down version of the earlier statement proposed by the US and European Union, leaves open the period in which Iran would be reported to the UN Security Council. The resolution says that the International Atomic Energy Agency has an “absence of confidence” that Iran’s nuclear program is “exclusively for peaceful purposes.” Russia and China have voiced objections during the process, arguing that the situation will only worsen if the Security Council takes up the matter. Russia also is helping Iran build one of its reactors. Read the document here.
