Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne and Chief of Staff Gen. Michael Moseley penned a new letter to airmen last week, extolling the heritage of the service as it begins commemoration of its 60 anniversary, Sept. 18, 2007. They note that the Oct. 14 dedication of the “long overdue” Air Force Memorial in Arlington, Va., will honor air and space pioneers, the “700,000 airmen who serve today across our Total Force and the millions yet to serve.”
As the Space Force prepares to field new fleets of satellites that can track moving targets in the air and on the ground, it’s working to ensure it has the organizational structures in place to onboard and operate those systems.
