South Korea’s new F-15K fighters were dubbed the “Slam Eagles” during a christening ceremony in Daegu, according to the Chosun Ilbo. A South Korean Air Force official indicated the new name is stronger, signaling that the aircraft can “hit hard.” The South Korean Air Force plans to start limited operations with the new fighter in January 2007.
As with previous stealth aircraft unveilings, the Air Force’s imagery of the F-47 Next-Generation Air Dominance fighter has been doctored to keep adversaries guessing about its true shaping and design philosophy.
