Getting a first hand look at the efforts going into the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program, USAFE Commander Gen. Robert H. “Doc” Foglesong paid a visit to Sheppard AFB, Tex., last week to meet international students and instructors. “I wanted to get a feel of how the program is set up,” Foglesong said. “It’s important and incredibly useful for me to get that hands-on experience.” He added that Sheppard is a fantastic place to hold the program, with great airspace and infrastructure for training.
The last remaining T-1 Jayhawk at JBSA-Randolph, Texas, took its final flight to the "Boneyard" at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., on July 15. The 99th Flying Training Squadron will train pilots using T-6 and simulator until it gets T-7 Red Hawk in fiscal 2026.
