The Launch Merger Inches Forward: Boeing and Lockheed Martin have a Federal Trade Commission-approved draft agreement that would permit the two companies to proceed with their plan to merge rocket launch services into a new venture, the United Launch Alliance. However, there are conditions. Both companies are reviewing the agreement provisions.
The Space Development Agency says it’s on track to issue its next batch of missile warning and tracking satellite contracts this month after those awards were delayed by the Pentagon’s decision to divert funds from the agency to pay troops during this fall’s prolonged government shutdown.
