Almost All Reserve:

Air Force Reserve Command earlier this year took on the task of overseeing transport of wounded and sick military members within the states, operating through the newly formed 775th Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron from three hubs—Det. 1 at Andrews AFB, Md., Det. 2 at Travis AFB, Calif., and headquartered at Scott AFB, Ill. According to a Dec. 27 release, the 775th EAES, which took over the role from the provisional active duty 375th AES, comprises 75 Reserve and five active duty members. The Reservists, who come from units in Alabama, California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, volunteer for a year, rotating between their home stations and one of the hubs 60 days at a time—forming mixed teams from different units. It’s unique, but it appears to be working well.
