DOD officials expect to complete “general” implementation plans for BRAC 2005 by February 2006. This is the big one, per Philip Grone, deputy undersecretary of defense for installations and environment. It comprises more than 800 installations across the country. Grone says there will be more than 241 implementations plans—each with its own pace and cost structure. He believes DOD will complete all necessary actions in time to meet the BRAC deadline of 2011.
