The Air Force is crowdsourcing Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein’s push to revitalize the squadrons. The service on Monday unveiled an “idea website” to solicit input from airmen. The site requires a Common Access Card to view and gives airmen the chance to share challenges they face and vote on ideas to help revitalize squadrons. The push, announced by Goldfein in September, has included a team that visited 12 bases and has interviewed more than a thousand airmen, according to an Air Force release.
As Air Force leaders consider concepts of operations for Collaborative Combat Aircraft, sustainment in the field—and easing that support by using standard parts and limiting variants—should be a key consideration, according to a new study from AFA's Mitchell Institute of Aerospace Studies.
