The US is evaluating its support of the Saudi-led campaign on Houthi rebels in Yemen after an alleged Saudi strike killed dozens of civilians on Saturday. National Security Council spokesman Ned Price said in a statement that the US support for Saudi Arabia is not a “blank check.” “We have and continue to express our serious concerns about the conflict in Yemen and how it has been waged,” Price said. The US is calling for a cessation of hostilities while it reviews its support. Pentagon spokesman Navy Capt. Jeff Davis said during a Tuesday briefing that the US is continuing to refuel Saudi aircraft in the campaign and it still has a team advising Saudi Arabia on its air campaign, at least for the time being. The U.S. began extensive air and artillery strikes against Islamic State group targets in Syria on Dec. 19 in retaliation for the killing of three Americans on Dec. 13 by a gunman affiliated with ISIS, U.S. officials said.
