Boeing’s Phantom Ray unmanned airborne system flies for the first time under its own power. The 17-minute flight at a speed of 178 knots and altitude of 7,500 feet takes place under the auspices of NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center at Edwards AFB, Calif., and demonstrates the vehicles airworthiness.
Airmen won’t be sent home from enlisted professional military education schools next year for failing the course’s mandatory fitness assessment.
