Air Combat Command announced that an MQ-1 Predator unmanned aerial vehicle crashed at about 8:58 a.m. Sept. 11 at Holloman AFB, N.M. The UAV was assigned to the 432nd Wing headquartered at Creech AFB, Nev. It was engaged in a training mission. The ACC release said no one was injured and no private property was damaged. The accident is under investigation.
The U.S. began extensive air and artillery strikes against Islamic State group targets in Syria on Dec. 19 in retaliation for the killing of three Americans on Dec. 13 by a gunman affiliated with ISIS, U.S. officials said.
