Minuteman III Test Launches from Vandenberg

A team from the 91st Missile Wing at Minot AFB, N.D., launched an unarmed Minuteman III ICBM from Vandenberg AFB, Calif., on Feb. 8. The missile flew 4,200 miles and landed on the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It was carrying telemetry packages to provide testing data. The last live test Minuteman III was launched in September 2016. Air Force Global Strike Command also conducts electronic simulation launches to test its ICBM fleet.
