According to a recent release from Lockheed Martin, the Air Force awarded the company a five-year, $60 million contract to continue depot maintenance support for the LANTIRN navigation and targeting pods for USAF and foreign military sales customers. (LANTIRN stands for low-altitude navigations and targeting infrared for night.) The work will be done at Lockheed’s Warner Robins Worldwide Depot, a government-owned, contractor-operated facility at Robins AFB, Ga., where it has worked with Air Force Materiel Command’s Warner Robins Air Logistics Center for the past 11 years. “Our depot employees and US Air Force team provide quick-turn repairs on LANTIRN assets with a commitment to quality,” said David Ragsdale, LANTIRN product support manager at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth visited the site of U.S. Space Command’s future home Dec. 12 and endorsed the move to establish the headquarters in Alabama after years of political back and forth.
